Platte Land Trust – Land Conservation

Platte Land Trust is protecting land and open space cherished by people and communities for the benefit of future generations.

The Platte Land Trust is an all-volunteer organization with a mission of conserving land and natural resources for wildlife habitat, farming, forests, historical importance, and parks and trails for the benefit of communities.

Helping land owners fulfill their dreams

The Platte Land Trust is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to conserving and protecting natural resources, land, and open spaces.  Through a variety of efforts, we work to preserve scenic, recreational, agricultural, wildlife, and watershed lands.   Land conservation in balance with economic prosperity results in quality communities.   We assist land owners in voluntary conservation easements on their land and accept fee simple donations.

What is a land trust?

A nonprofit organization that, as all or part of its mission, actively works to conserve land by undertaking or assisting in land conservation easement acquisition, or by its stewardship of the land or easements. Land trusts work with landowners and the community to conserve land by accepting donations of land, purchasing land, negotiating private, voluntary conservation agreements on land, and stewarding conserved land through the generations to come.
